Teach me lord,

to overcome pain,

to break bonds

that only slain

my heart and soul.

Teach me Lord,

to draw closer

to your ever-lasting,

for no other

can heal me this way.

Teach me Lord,

to forgive like you

for I am a vessel

waiting to be sewed–

do what you do.

Teach me Lord,

to be wonderful

inside and out.

Oh how merciful

you are–without a doubt.

Teach me Lord,

to rejoice your name

the way you want,

for you are to blame

of all great things.

Teach me Lord,

to love like you,

to understand

the way you do–

a wisdom without end.

Teach me Lord,

to pause and sit still,

to admire creation,

to forget pills–

those you saved me from.

Teach me Lord,

to love again

as this time

life seems to end

at its prime.
