On nights like this,

this heart trembles.

Pounding the door

that holds my peace.

Fear– with fists closed,

violates the walls

I put up for myself.

I wish I did not let her in.

But on nights like this,

I hold the door open.

Knowing she will

slip through and

give me something

to cry about–

an inevitable cycle.

Sadness is normal. These are emotions we all feel. Sometimes we can push them away– neglecting them somehow. But they always emerge when the time is due. Learn to acknowledge them before letting them go. It is our body’s way to release the energies that no longer serve you.
